Need help paying for your FLO?

Students who meet the federal requirements for Free and Reduced-Price Lunch (FRPL) may qualify for DiscoverU Financial Aid.

Eligibility does not automatically guarantee an award. Students must also complete the required forms and steps in a timely manner.

Students must complete:

1. DiscoverU Waiver
2. Financial Aid Application
3. Accepted Student Form (ASF)

Request Financial Aid as soon as you know you need financial assistance. Aid is awarded first-come, first-served. DiscoverU monitors spending throughout the year to try to keep funding available for students accepted later, but funding is limited.

Please allow up to 10 days to hear from DiscoverU about your Financial Aid request.

DiscoverU currently provides Financial Aid based on the type of FLO:

• Local/Regional: up to $150
• Domestic: up to $400
• International: up to $650

The amount and use of Financial Aid may depend on the FLO and eligible expenses.

For eligible international programs, DiscoverU Financial Aid can generally help with flight or travel costs. If the program does not require travel, eligible Financial Aid may instead be applied toward program tuition. Eligible students may receive up to $650 toward their flight; students/families are responsible for any remaining balance.

No. DiscoverU does not pay program deposits. Deposits are the responsibility of the student and family.

Financial Aid may instead be used toward eligible program tuition or travel costs, depending on the FLO.

If you are eligible for DiscoverU Financial Aid, DiscoverU may award up to $650 toward your flight. The student/family is responsible for the remaining flight cost. Students make payments toward their remaining balance through DiscoverU, and once the required amount has been paid, DiscoverU can proceed with booking the flight.

The Accepted Student Form (ASF) is a required step after you are accepted into a FLO.

1. Log into your DiscoverU Student Portal.
2. Complete your ASF within 10 days of acceptance.
3. Follow the instructions to create your fundraising page.
4. Use your fundraising page to make payments toward your program and/or receive donations.
5. If requesting Financial Aid, allow up to 10 days to hear from DiscoverU.

If your FLO does not require travel, eligible DiscoverU Financial Aid may be applied toward program tuition. The specific use of your award depends on the program and your approved Financial Aid.

Yes. DiscoverU reserves the right to revoke awarded Financial Aid if a student:

• Does not make required payments
• Stops communicating with DiscoverU or their FLO
• Is not actively participating in the program
• Does not complete required steps or paperwork
• Does not remain engaged with the Financial Aid process
